Bristol has less rain than expected, more mean and steepy hills than necessary :-) is a good place to hang out at day and night time (ok, Bristol is in England, so it is expensive and most of the pubs close at 11 p.m.)
Favourite spots:
Clifton Suspension Bridge
The parks (there are many!), the Watershed (cinema and pub and exhibition place), this italian bar left to the Royal Victorian Theatre and the park close to the Suspension Bridge.
What's really great:
Small city, so you can reach everything by bike. There are a lot of very atmospherical pubs and it very nice to stroll around the harbour...
Sights:
Suspension Bridge, this old-english park near the Bower Ashton Campus, the harbour...
Accommodations:
Bristol's City Center - from the Harbourside
The Bristol Backpackers! Was 12 pound a night in 2001 - right in the centre of Bristol.
Nightlife:
Sorry... I am so bad in remembering names... but there are a few nice clubs!
Hangouts:
Tobacco Factory, this italian bar next to the VIC (it's open till 2 a.m.), Watershed
Restaurants:
England is too expensive! I couldn't afford a restaurant!
Other recommendations:
Close to the sea, close to Bath (an old roman town).
