This is suppose to be the second largest city in Cambodia but it was not very big except that there in the centre of the town, there was a very interesting market that sells interesting food, tortoise, snakes, I would say anything with a spine bone....!!!

Favourite spots: |
Nothing much special about this town, but we heard there was a good killing field to visit but we didn't had time to go as we were going back to Thailand early the next day.

What's really great: |
In the Lonely Planet guide, there was some shout about the french architecture around the city but, there isn't very much actually, you can walk to a temple very near the train station, very quiet and good shades.

Accommodations: |
There are a lot of hotels around Battambang and you can choose the one you like since the demand are so much lesser and supply. Can't remember the name of the Hotel we stayed in Chaiya Hotel which was located right in front of the market.
Restaurants: |
There are some stall located right next to the market.
