This is a lovely old city full of charm and character. The honey colored stone makes beautiful buildings. There are lovely gardens and flowers everywhere. If you need a peaceful rest from your vacation, try Bath!

Favourite spots: |
The baths museum. You are given a mobile device that explanes all you see. Wander at your leasure and listen in your own language, very interesting information on all the artifacts and sights is provided.
What's really great: |
Being able to go down to the waters and feel them. So few places allow you to get up close and personal with Roman ruins.
Sights: |
In the Pump Room is a waiter who will dispense the bath water in a glass. He is dressed in period costume and will fill you in on all the benifets of 'taking the waters'!
Restaurants: |
The Pump Room offers simple elegance in a charming old setting. A string quartet provided us with music as we enjoyed fresh pressed coffee and scones. You may also want to try, for 50p, the bath water. It's warm, minerally and tastes.... just try it!

Other recommendations: |
The Kings Pool in the baths. This ancient pool glitters with modern offerings to a long forgotten Roman god.

Isn't Bath wonderful fun! Also great are the Georgian house, the cathedral, the costume museum, and the free guided tours by local historical society members. |
