St. Louis is traditionally called The Gateway to the West because of it is the historical beginning from which the population of the United States migrated westward. The city has a diverse multi-cultural population and has festivals and attractions devoted to many cultures. This is one of the world's great river cities, including activities, architecture, sports, historical sites, and other aspects which draw visitors from around the world.

What's really great: |
My favorite area of St. Louis was Forest Park, the largest city park in the United States. This park was the site of the 1904 World's Fair, and continues to draw visitors to the city. The facilities in the park are famous.

Hangouts: |
The Big Bang: in The Landing area. Has dueling pianos.

Restaurants: |
Trainwreck on the Landing: a sports pub/bar/restaurant. The ribs are voted the best in the city. Ostrich, alligator, buffalo, and other meats are available.
Morgan Street Brewery: This wonderful restaurant serves pastas, salads, and burgers, among other things. Plus, it is a microbrewery.
Any of the Italian restaurants in the area known as The Hill should be visited. Most of these are highly rated.
