In 2001 I did have the chance to visit Chicago on my trip from Vancouver BC Canada to New York. The city has loads to offer. Great architecture, good beer from small microbreweries and an extraordinary nightlife.
Chicago skyline
Chicago is a must if you like architecture. The city has lots of famous buildings. Chicago became home to the world's tallest building in 1973 when the Sears Tower was topped off. The Sears Tower remained the tallest building in the world until February 13, 1996. Now the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia are the highest builings. Never the less the top flor is still the highest in the world. Many other famous high buildings are located down town. Chicago is also a home of lots of micro brueries.

The John Hankock Building is just stunning if you stand right in front of it. For the first day in Chicago I was just walking around with my had turned to the sky. Those buildings are tickling the sky!
The local trains did give me the fealing like I am in "while you where sleaping". I was always wayting for Sandra Bullock to come along :-)
