El Mirador Basin Preserve - Guatemala, Petén This is one of few partially restored structures in El Mirador. A temple built over an earlier temple (quite traditional in Mayan buildings), it features a pair of masks with jaguar claws coming out from behind the face. This shows the one restored portion, the right claw and ear spool, next to the face which has yet to be restored.
