The Queen Charlotte Islands, the Islands on the Sea, are situated South of Alaska and West of the British Columbia coast. It is an archipelago of some 154 Islands, inhabitated since 10 000 years. It is the home of the Haida Gwaii, the self-confident, proud and poltically active Haida nation. South Moresby is a national park and also the Northwest part of Graham Island with the beautiful East Beach. Three towns - Skidegate, a Haida community near the ferry station with a wonderful museum, Queen Charlotte City, the commercial centre, and Masset, another Haida community and commercial centre - all are on Graham Island, where most of the people live.
